Due to unfortunate circumstances I haven't really been able to work on MAYA all that much for unit 2, last time I checked and what I can see I'm almost on the 4th tutorial I think?

Unit 2: Narrative or The Time Machine and Silent Hill essay research

Above is a 'narrative influence map' kind of like my own method into gaining understanding about my subject of which is The Time Machine, these examples aim to show you some possibly interesting links that may simply be good to cross compare.
Left: Bear Grylls, present day explorer and presenter of his own shows such as Born Survivor, how to survive in the wild kind of thing.
Top: Indiana Jones, it holds a vintage tone in the way the films conducts the certain adventure, reminds me of the 1960's rendition of The Time Machine.
Middle: Uncharted 2 or the games series as a whole, basically it sustains itself by means of strong cinematic, a very close feel to Indiana Jones in fact.
Right: LEOARDO DA VINCI!! Of course! He is easily an absolute favourite of mine in the same way I believe he helped influenced H.G Wells to create the idea of a time machine, ingenuity in his inventive nature.
Bottom left: Tomb Raider, yet another games series but in the respect of linking it to The Time Machine I'd say apart from the adventurous aspect, unexpected boundary pushing, as it was odd to think up a time machine in the late 19th Century, so was it to let a female have a lead role in a game that apparently is suited for a male, late 20th century stereotyping for ya'!
Bottom right: Sherlock Holmes... The series started within the same year in fact so a definition was clear it seems.




Simply photographs taken on a foggy day of the nearby area, nothing fancy but you get that natural sense of disturbance (Well I do anyway..), probably due to the fact vision is limited and the surrounds seem to be de-saturated. SILENT HILL the film is my essay choice, seeing as it gives me similar feelings due to it's eerie visual appeal and link to an incredibly good games series, I feel I'll have plenty I could discuss.
ALSO, THE TRAFFIC LIGHTS WITHIN THE FOG HAVE GIVEN ME AN IDEA FOR A VIVID CONTRAST NEEDED IN MY SECOND SCENE, YAY!
